Need Volunteers to Assist with Classroom Art

Posted by webmaster on 6th November 2011

If you’re interested in helping out in a classroom with an art project on a date TBD between now and February, please email Audubon Class Art Co-Chair Lara Levoy.

There is a kick-off/informational/brainstorming meeting this Tuesday, November 8th in the back room of the Village Tap at 7:30pm. It’s not mandatory, but it will be fun and interesting to anyone who would like to be involved in this way.

Thank you for your continued involvement with Audubon School.

Math Tutors Needed for 2nd Grade

Posted by webmaster on 12th October 2011

Audubon is in need of 4 more math tutors to work in pairs with 2 small groups of 2nd grade students for one 45-minute session per week. (So, 2 volunteers with 5 students.) This small group math is a critical element of math differentiation at Audubon and uses an enriched math curriculum called Math Strategies/Problem Solving. This is a year-long commitment and is very rewarding. These 2nd graders are eager math learners. Volunteer checks required. This is a program also offered to 3rd and 4th graders, whose volunteers have been secured, but it’s the 2nd graders who won’t get this program this year if we don’t find 4 people to do this. Please consider yourself, your neighbors, your relatives and your friends. Thank you!

If you or someone you know is interested, please email Audubon’s math differentiation specialist Julia Sajovec at jazver@cps.edu.

Need Science Fair Judges–Nov 8–No Experience Necessary

Posted by webmaster on 5th October 2011

Would you like to judge the Middle School Science Fair? We need 40 judges!!!

Each judge will evaluate approximately three projects for about 20 min. each. The evaluation consists of a judge reading through the student’s paper, preparing some questions based on the paper, listening to the student’s presentation, asking follow-up questions, and filling out the score sheet. Please plan to spend at least an hour total judging 3 projects.

There will be a continental breakfast for judges from 8:00am – 8:30am and a judge’s orientation/training session from 8:30am – 9:00am. Judging will begin at 9:00am and conclude at 11:00am.

If you would like to judge, email me at ejfay@cps.edu. It would be great to have your help!

Sincerely,

Eric Fay
