Beginning late September we will start our “Mystery Reader” activity. This is a time each week that volunteers can come can read a book to the class (either self chosen or pre-selected by the teacher. It’s your choice.) Mystery Reader will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays. SHHH, remember, it’s a surprise, so don’t tell your child you are coming to school.

Another volunteer opportunity is during Guided Reading and Literacy Centers. While the classroom teacher is working with reading groups, we will be needing volunteers to come in and supervise the students during center time. It is preferred that volunteers be available to come twice a month at this time. Please do not bring younger siblings with you during your volunteer time, it takes away from the center you are in charge of supervising.

We would like to welcome anyone who has an art project to share with the class. If this interests you, the day and time are very flexible. If supplies are needed from the classroom teacher, please let us know a week in advance.
