“My mission is to ensure that each child develops a love of learning, and the best way to do this involves setting up a wide variety of play activities. Children are naturally curious about their world, so I tap into these interests to help them reach learning standards. For instance, if children collect leaves on the ground, I encourage them to bring them to our classroom’s science table for future experimentation and provide books related to leaves. Children learn through modeling, especially by mimicking peers, so I set up multiple opportunities for students to teach each other.”–Ms. Whitney
